"Gladiator II" is the long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott's Oscar-winning 2000 epic. Paul Mescal takes on the role of Lucius, who idolizes Maximus (played by Russell Crowe in the original) and is the nephew of Joaquin Phoenix's villainous Commodus.

Gladiator 2 is out next month, so it was only a matter of time before we caught a glimpse of a popcorn bucket that embodied all of the decadence that eventually led Rome to collapse. It’s a call back to the helmet Maximus Decimus Meridius wears in the first movie which will presumably have a cameo in the sequel.

The helmet made its debut in the original 2000 Gladiator film on Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russell Crowe) and will likely return in the sequel flick. Fans, however, are more excited about getting a real-life version of MF DOOM ’s iconic mask, which is based off of the movie’s helmet.
