Phogat won from Julana constituency by over 6000 votes on a Congress ticket. Phogat's win is historic as the the grand old party managed to grab the seat after 19 years

Phogat is pitted against the BJP’s Captain Yogesh Kumar and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP)’s sitting MLA Amardeep Dhanda and its one of the key battles in Haryana Assembly elections.
